Type and Owning a Small Business

In an 1997 study quoted in the MBTI manual, both men and women with ESTJ and ENTJ preferences showed up more often in a sample of small business owners than you would expect from their numbers in the general population.

Having these preferences would likely link to having a task and goal-focused, bottom-line, efficient approach to running a small business.

Of course, any person with any personality type preferences, can successfully own a small business. Everyone will have different strengths and challenges in this endeavor.

Are any readers small business owners? What are your preferences and how do you use your preferences to enhance your business success?

If you have preferences for ESTJ or ENTJ, it would be helpful for my readers to hear your career story. Please add it on my Expeditor Career Success Stories and Strategies page.
