Leadership Illustrations

By Donna Dunning

Donna DunningIn my MBTI® Certification workshops I ask groups to describe leadership strengths and challenges associated with their preferences. These visual representations of type preferences help illustrate individual differences.

Here is a photo of a response from an SF group. They describe their leadership approach as practical, adaptable, and positive.

In my experience, overused strengths can often become a challenge. Note the challenges this group mentions are all linked to their preference for Feeling, as they see it “taking over”.

Anyone can be a good leader, no matter what his or her type preferences. The key to effective leadership, in my opinion, is self-awareness and ongoing personal development.

Knowing your strengths and challenges helps you determine your natural leadership approach and shows you what areas you might need to improve.

Awareness of personality type preferences can also, if you are open-minded, help you adapt to and accommodate people who have different approaches than your own.

Your Opinion
