Illustrations of Type – ESTJ

Illustrations of Type – ESTJ

By Donna Dunning

In my MBTI® Certification workshops participants respond to the instruction -“Describe your type using words, phrases, or pictures.” I find these visual representations of type preferences help illustrate individual differences.

Here is a photo of a response from a group of ESTJs.

You can see the descriptors you would expect: planner, organizer, and logical decision-maker. Their description also includes what you might not so easily see; becoming stressed when they don’t have enough time to plan, do, and research. As well they describe how decisions are not final until they are satisfied or run out of time. These phrases help us see the Introverted Sensing (Si) that is going on internally as the ESTJ collects data to ensure their decisions are accurate and their actions will be useful and efficient. For more information on the parts of personality type that are usually seen and those more private, see my posts on dominant and auxiliary functions.

For more illustrations of type from ESTJs, you may also want to look at the first ESTJ illustration and the second ESTJ illustration.
