Type Dynamics for the ENTJ

Dominant (Te): Outwardly logically decisive, focused on accomplishing goals.

Auxiliary (Ni): Inwardly focused on long-term possibilities for improving systems.

Tertiary (S): As they mature, become more practical and realistic as well as innovative.

Inferior (Fi): Developmental challenge is considering personal factors when deciding.

The ENTJ Preferred Mode

Insightful Expeditors use Extraverted Thinking (Te) as their core approach to work and living. This outward, decisive, results-oriented approach tends to effectively accomplish results.

Insightful Expeditors thrive in situations where they can take control and efficiently solve complex problems. They often take on and enjoy leadership roles. If you are an Insightful Expeditor, you are likely at your best when you are taking charge, delegating, and accomplishing goals.

Adding a Secondary Approach

To avoid moving down the wrong path or making inaccurate decisions, Insightful Expeditors are internally thinking about and incorporating ideas and models into their strategic plan. They consider multiple options and look at long-term possibilities, implications, and consequences of actions to create changes that will make things run effectively in the future.

Development Pathway

ENTJs will likely be convinced to develop the non-preferred parts of their personality when they see logical, strategic reasons to do so.

As Insightful Expeditors develop, they learn to look more at immediate implications and consequences of actions. For example, a young ENTJ may take quick actions without gathering very many facts and details to support the decision. A more mature ENTJ will pay greater attention to the realities and facts of the situation to ensure their actions are practical and effective in both the long and short term.

Over time Insightful Expeditors can also learn to place more emphasis on how people will interpret and be affected by decisions. They will be motivated to do this when it serves their preferred mode of operating. For example, an ENTJ can be convinced to use more small talk and develop additional empathic skills when they see how these actions help them implement changes and accomplish their goals more effectively.

Developmental Tips for the Insightful Expeditor

  • Collect more facts and details before deciding.
  • Look at immediate as well as long-term implications and consequences of your decisions.
  • Ask people how a decision will affect them and take this information into consideration.
  • Listen carefully to people. Hear and respond empathically to their concerns without trying to analyze or solve their problems.
  • Give positive feedback and encouragement when you see something done well.

  1. Fantastic analysis. Thank you. I have printed it and will ponder. I can be convinced to use more small talk, can I? 🙂
